What size are 6.5-inch iPhone App Store screenshots?
Apple's screenshot specifications list 4 accepted sizes for "iPhone with Face ID (large display)":
| Orientation | Accepted sizes (pixels) |
|---|---|
| Portrait | 1284 × 2778, 1242 × 2688 |
| Landscape | 2778 × 1284, 2688 × 1242 |
An image must match one of these exactly. A screenshot a few pixels off is rejected, and the checker tells you the size to resize to.
Which devices are in this group?
iPhone 14 Plus, 13 Pro Max, 12 Pro Max, 11 Pro Max, 11, XS Max, XR.
Do you still need 6.5-inch screenshots?
No. Apple's required iPhone size is "iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display)", known as 6.3-inch: 1179 × 2556, 1206 × 2622 in portrait. 6.5-inch screenshots are accepted if you want this group to have its own, but they're optional.
Can you resize 6.5-inch screenshots to the required size?
Almost. The 6.5-inch and 6.3-inch sizes differ in shape by less than 1%, so a resize either crops a few pixels or stretches the image very slightly. Exporting at the required size from your design file avoids both. The checker tells you the closest accepted size for any image.
What are the rules for every screenshot?
- At least 1 and up to 10 screenshots per device size, in each localization.
- .jpeg, .jpg or .png.
- No alpha channel or transparency. Export PNGs with a solid background.
